Portugal Retreat 2026
Go deeper into Embodied Philosophy
This is the deep retreat.
A full week to reset your nervous system, refine your inner compass, and practise what it means to live with clarity, boundaries, and quiet strength: Not as ideas, but as embodied habits.
Less doing. More integration.
You’ll leave with a felt sense of “I’m back.” And the tools to stay there.
What this retreat is
Portugal offers what many people lack: space.
Space to hear yourself. Space to feel what you actually need. Space to practise new responses before life gets loud again.
The Algarve offers sunshine, sea air and expansive vistas, as well as a rhythm that encourages you to slow down.
This retreat is designed to be both supportive and gentle, offering clear guidelines, simple language, a safe group environment and practices that cater for all levels.
This is not a holiday and it’s not a bootcamp.
It’s a week of embodied practice and real integration.
We explore martial arts philosophy as a path of inner transformation:
- clarity in decisions and direction
- boundaries without hardness
- calm under pressure
- connection without performing
Everything is offered as an invitation.
No sparring. No body contact. No forced vulnerability.
What can martial arts teach us about who we become?
Who this is for
For you if you...
- want depth and real change, not just a “nice week away”
- want to practise martial arts as a path of inner development
- want a safe space to practise truthfully (whether you're a beginner or advanced).
The minimum age is 18.
Not for
Not ideal if you…
- want performance metrics, boot camp intensity or sparring
- want quick fixes without putting in the work
What you’ll experience
Movement
The language of the body
Through non-contact martial arts, mindful exercises and basic movements, you will experience how posture influences thought and how breathing can prevent impulsive reactions. We don't push; we practise. You will approach your limits with curiosity, develop stability, and realise that true strength can be gentle and warm.
Philosophy
Wisdom for everyday life
Principles such as yin and yang (dynamic balance), wu wei (effortless action) and mushin (a mind that clings to nothing) guide not only timing, communication and leadership, but also rest. Rather than considering them as theories, we explore them as habits of attention that can be used at home and at work.
Community
A circle that carries
In the evening, around a shared table, community becomes the foundation on which we grow. We don't try to fix each other; we bear witness. We don’t perform; we practise. In that atmosphere, depth becomes natural and change becomes easier to sustain.

The Location
Lagos, Algarve (Portugal), where warm cliffs meet the Atlantic and golden mornings begin. Practising here is more than just training; it is a reminder that the path is not a place to reach, but a way to walk, one conscious step at a time.
This private villa is located near the Atlantic and features terraces for sunrise practice and spaces for quiet evenings. The setting is simple and beautiful, designed to encourage focus, rest and community. Expect comfort without excess, nature within easy reach and calm, uncluttered rooms.
