Terms of Participation
Pranado gGmbH · Version dated 1 October 2026 · Deutsch: Teilnahmebedingungen auf Deutsch
These Terms of Participation apply to paid in-person courses, weekend formats, retreats held in Heidelberg, and live online courses and webinars offered under “Do for Life – Embodied Philosophy”. Separate terms will be prepared before introducing future international retreats that bundle travel services or paid on-demand courses.
1. Organizer, scope and contracting party
- The organizer and contracting party is Pranado gGmbH, Zeppelinstr. 189, 69121 Heidelberg, Germany, email: info@pranado.org.
- These Terms of Participation and the specific description of the booked program form the basis of the contract. Individual agreements take precedence over these Terms.
- For free content provided without booking a paid offer, these Terms apply only where expressly stated.
2. Booking and conclusion of contract
- Bookings are generally made through the pretix booking system used by Pranado. Before an order is completed, the essential features of the program, the total price and the applicable terms are shown.
- For regular products, the contract is concluded when the customer completes the order with an obligation to pay and receives the subsequent confirmation from the booking system.
- For rates expressly marked as requiring approval, in particular Solidarity Tickets, the order initially constitutes a booking request. The contract is concluded only when Pranado approves the request. Payment is enabled only after approval.
- The person making the booking is responsible for providing complete and accurate information and a reachable email address.
3. Scope and character of the programs
- The specific scope of services is set out in the description of the respective program. Depending on the format, Do for Life combines traditional martial arts, movement, breathwork, meditation, periods of rest, mobility work, partner exercises, and philosophical and reflective elements.
- The type, intensity and sequence of individual program elements may be adapted to the group, venue, safety requirements and actual course of the program, provided that the overall character and essential value of the booked offer are preserved.
- For objective reasons, Pranado may replace individual teachers or facilitators with suitably qualified alternatives.
- Do for Life programs are educational, experiential and movement-based offers. They are not a substitute for medical, psychotherapeutic or other healthcare treatment.
4. Participation, safety and cooperation
- Participants must follow safety and organizational instructions given by the facilitators and should only perform exercises within a range that is responsible for them.
- Participants who are aware of health limitations, injuries or other circumstances relevant to safe participation should inform Pranado where this is necessary for the specific program. Only information that is actually relevant to safe delivery needs to be shared.
- If a participant is unsure whether a practice is suitable, they should consult the facilitator before the relevant exercise. Pranado may adapt exercises, offer alternatives or advise against participation in individual practices.
- Participation under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances is not permitted where this would impair safe or respectful participation.
5. Breathwork and program-specific safety information
- Where a program includes more intensive breath practices, Pranado provides program-specific safety information and the contraindications relevant to those practices before or during the booking process.
- Participants confirm in this case that they have read the safety information and will inform the facilitators before the relevant practice if any listed condition applies to them or if they are unsure.
- A health-related circumstance does not automatically exclude a person from the entire program. Depending on the situation, individual exercises may be adapted, replaced or omitted.
- Acknowledging the safety information does not constitute a waiver of liability and does not release Pranado from its own duties of care.
6. Dignity & Practice Charter and conduct
- The Do for Life Dignity & Practice Charter describes the shared approach to the learning and experiential space. This includes respectful conduct, respect for personal boundaries, confidentiality regarding personal contributions by others, and adherence to the practice framework of the respective program.
- In the event of disruptions or rule violations, Pranado will generally first seek clarification and an appropriate educational or organizational intervention.
- In cases of serious conduct, including significant danger, violence, severe boundary violations or serious discriminatory behavior, or repeated substantial violations despite prior clarification, Pranado may end a participant’s further participation.
- If participation is ended for a serious reason attributable to the participant, there is generally no entitlement to a refund for services not used as a result. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
7. Communication and Signal
- Contractual and payment-related information is sent to the email address provided during booking.
- For longer or more intensive formats, a Signal group may additionally be used for practical coordination and voluntary group exchange. Essential information will not be provided exclusively through Signal.
- Participants decide for themselves whether they remain in a Signal group after the program has ended.
8. Prices and payment
- The total price shown during the booking process applies. Additional services that are not part of the booked offer are identified separately.
- Unless installment payment is expressly offered, the total price is due according to the payment deadline shown in the booking system.
- If a higher-priced offer expressly provides for a deposit and later balance payment, the installments and due dates shown during booking apply. If a booking is made after the scheduled balance due date, the full amount may become due immediately.
- If a due payment is not made despite a reminder and an appropriate additional deadline, Pranado may withdraw from the contract or cancel the booking in accordance with statutory requirements. Claims already accrued remain unaffected.
9. Cancellation by participants
For voluntary cancellations, unless a statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation takes precedence, the following cancellation charges apply:
Time of cancellation | Cancellation charge | Refund |
more than 56 days before the start | 10% | 90% |
56 to 29 days before the start | 25% | 75% |
28 to 15 days before the start | 50% | 50% |
14 to 7 days before the start | 75% | 25% |
6 days or less before the start / no-show | 90% | 10% |
- The relevant time is when the cancellation is received by Pranado or through the booking system.
- These cancellation terms also apply in the event of illness, scheduling conflicts or other personal reasons preventing participation.
- The participant or booking person remains expressly entitled to demonstrate that Pranado suffered no loss or a substantially lower loss.
- Transfers to another program or substitution by another suitable participant may be agreed on a case-by-case basis; there is no entitlement to this. If a place can be economically reallocated, this must be taken into account when calculating the loss.
- Statutory rights, including any applicable right of withdrawal, are not restricted by these cancellation terms.
10. Minimum number of participants, cancellation and changes by Pranado
- The minimum number of participants applicable to a program is stated in the respective program description.
- If the minimum number is not reached, Pranado may cancel the program no later than 21 days before it begins, unless a more favorable deadline for participants is stated in the specific program description.
- If Pranado cancels a program, payments already made for services not provided will be refunded in full. Alternatively, a free transfer to another available program may be agreed at the participant’s request.
- In the event of urgent short-term reasons, in particular illness of the responsible facilitator without a reasonable replacement, official orders or objective impossibility of performance, the statutory rights of both parties apply.
- Minor changes to times, schedule, rooms or facilitators remain possible where they do not materially alter the overall character of the program and are reasonable for participants.
11. Special provisions for live online courses and webinars
- The technical minimum requirements and online platform used are communicated in the program description or before the program begins.
- Participants are responsible for a suitable device, an adequate internet connection and the functionality of their own technical environment.
- Access credentials and meeting links are intended only for the booked participant and may not be shared without Pranado’s consent.
- If a substantial part of a live online program cannot take place due to a technical problem attributable to Pranado, Pranado will offer an appropriate make-up session, replacement service or proportionate refund. Technical problems solely within the participant’s sphere generally do not give rise to a refund claim.
- Recordings will only be made if this is expressly announced in advance and implemented in compliance with applicable data protection requirements.
12. Right of withdrawal for online bookings
- A booking through pretix is a distance contract. Whether a statutory right of withdrawal applies depends on the type of the specific offer.
- Under Section 312g(2)(9) of the German Civil Code (BGB), there is no statutory right of withdrawal for services related to leisure activities where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance. Where this exception applies to the specific offer, the customer is expressly informed before submitting the order.
- For live online offers, the withdrawal situation is assessed based on the specific format. Where a statutory right of withdrawal exists, the customer receives the legally required information and withdrawal notice before the contract is concluded.
- Any statutory right of withdrawal is not restricted by the cancellation terms in these Terms of Participation.
13. Liability
- Pranado is liable without limitation for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health caused by an intentional or negligent breach of duty by Pranado, its legal representatives or agents, and for other damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
- In cases of simple negligence, Pranado is liable for other damage only where an essential contractual obligation has been breached. In such cases, liability is limited, to the extent permitted by law, to the typical and foreseeable damage.
- Mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.
- Pranado does not assume strict liability for the safekeeping of personal belongings. Participants should bring valuables only to the extent necessary.
14. Materials, content and rights of use
- Booklets, handouts, video or audio files and other course materials provided by Pranado are intended solely for the participant’s personal use unless stated otherwise.
- Reproduction, publication, distribution or commercial use beyond private use requires Pranado’s prior consent unless permitted by law.
15. Photos, videos and newsletter
- Consent to photographs or videos for remembrance or public communication purposes is not part of these Terms and, where required, is obtained separately and voluntarily.
- Newsletter subscription is voluntary and is not a condition of participation. Consent may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
16. Data protection
- Information on the processing of personal data, in particular regarding pretix, payment providers, health-related information, Signal, Monday.com and newsletters, is provided in the current Do for Life Privacy Notice.
- Where explicit consent is required for special categories of personal data, it is obtained separately from agreement to these Terms.
17. Final provisions
- German law applies, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection provisions that cannot be derogated from by choice of law under the law of the consumer’s country of habitual residence.
- If an individual provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected; the statutory rules apply in place of any invalid provision.
